Respect

Is respect not earnt rather than demanded? Because personally I believe that respect has to be earnt- and that people who demand respect unjustly do not deserve it. The right does not lie with you to decide whether or not people should have respect for you, it lies with the people that choose to have respect for you. Of course a certain amount of respect should be given to those elder than you- but they have to deserve it, it is not a constant, it can be easily lost. If a criminal is an old man does that mean you have to have respect for him? No. So, he's been around for longer than you, so what? He lost his repesct, or maybe he never even deserved it, and that is the thing to remember.

I had a frustrating day, with people attacking me for opinions which my well-being does not depend on. I was only trying to defend the innocent, for there is no need to make the innocent pay for what was done to you. However, it seems I am the only person I know who holds this ideal, and so I was attacked. By six people none the less. One would think people would be more thoughtful. If the youth are the future, and that is the youth then I don't wanna be around for the future of this country. That's the unfortunate truth.

BUT

And yet sometimes for sanity's sake we shut up and take it. "It" being whatever it may be, and sanity being the closest attainable thing to it.

Keep on pretending and it might come true

You can pretend something doesn't exist, but that doesn't make it go away...does it?

Lyrix pt 1

I don't wanna be a puppet for you
Don't wanna bite the hand that's feeding
I don't wanna be a sucker for you, oh yes you
I hate myself for begging
I hate myself for staying
I hate myself for listening to,
You, you, you, you, you

Do you like it

I got a jack russell puppy and he's gorgeous!

I am so mad

I am so mad right now 'cause someone had the audacity to comment that my blog was "boring". If you don't like it, shut up. Yeah, you're free to comment but within the limits of decency. It seems my grasp of the language is higher than his and that makes my blog not suitable for his entertainment purposes.

Constructive criticism. Look into it.

New Years

Can't believe how fast the years fly by. Seems like only a month ago I started Gr11, now Gr12 is looming on the horizon! The last year of school...

As exciting as it is nearly being finished with school and so on, it's also kind of scary. Scary 'cause we're about to be thrown out of our safety nets into the big bad world to fend for ourselves and realise that all those fairy-tale dreams we held so dear in our childhood are a lot harder to achieve than we ever dreamed possible.

We've got to decide what we want to do with our lives. Decisions, decisions! What to study, where to study, wether to study further. How are we going to pay our bills? Like a game of "The Sims" where your family moves in and then realises that to have money, you have to work for it. Work- imagine that. Call me spoilt but the notion of working in a job that requires no qualifications and is of minimum pay is scary...

Yep, it's a scary world out there, and boy do we realise that when we start nearing the end of our school careers. We've got to earn our keep, and give up on little luxuries- for a while anyway.

Let's just hope we are all successful in whatever we choose to do and that we all study hard this year and do the best we can :) Here's to 2005!!
