thoughts on sorrow

Ah, sweet you
You who can make me cry
you who can make me sad
For it is only you that I love
------------------------
"I am delighted
that my heart welcomes sorrow
for the sorrow
that the earth and the sky
can not behold
is contained in a heart
as small
as the eye of a needle"
Rumi

Maybe this is the best way to define Love?

When you let someone slide their hand around your heart, and they just need to squeeze ever so slightly to make you cry, like no-one else can?

It's like that and stubbing your big toe against the wall..,

it's always the ones that you love the most that hurt you the most, yet if they love you in the same way, would never hurt you.

Sometimes being sad is good, makes you appreciate when you are happy that much more.

Hey Leila :)

Makes me wonder, those poems of yours, if love is the only (or most) important thing in this world of ours. And if it is, then maybe it's also the only (or most important) reason of sadness.. hm. Depends on how you define love, i guess. If somebody asks me to define love I always say love is a falling autumn leaf, but I don't know why exactly. It just sounds good, i guess..

Fal - maybe, i don't know. i don't know much. but i'll take your word for it...

walter - ouch. yeah, that too.

k - yeah it is, isn't it? but i think the would always hurt you, no matter what.

big ben - yeah you're right. if there was no happy there would be no sad....

jeeps - hey :)
i think our innermost core is love, we were made out of love, made to love, and all that. and yet 'love' is not exactly something that comes up in everyday conversations (well at least not with the folks i hang around with) so i write about it. i write about it because i think about it, and if i don't talk about it, it has to come out somewhere else.

it's not just love as in romantic love, but all sorts of love.

i love autumn though, all the colours and the crunchy autumn leaves. it's a pretty picture...my my aren't you the romantic??

ben o - hey there, thanks on both counts :)

dirk the feeble - well...now you know!

guerilla - *giggle* never knew being sad had it's advantages...
