I agree so much with those statements about hurting and protecting the ones we love the most. I am really excited that my emotions are starting to show again-The DR is finally doing his job-sometime soon I am gonna cry-I can feel it. Great Job!
I know, this is so tuff.. When pain takes over, we hurt the ones we love, or even blame them. It's so much easier I guess. But you always have to remember that it is ok to be sad from time to time and let it all out. The ones we love are (or should be) here to understand. I hope you're feeling ok!
Leila, m8, I hope things are getting better. I remember kind of the first time I turned up in here... no, the second time. The first time it was about lions and safari or something? Maybe not.
Anyway, there were loads of wild little posts you wrote. Dazzlingly insightful and kind and stuff. You are brilliant and if there's anything I can do (pretty unlikely) don't hesitate to move your mouse.
Guys, can I join your emotionally deaf camp?
Leila, write a story, kick a football, eat a plant, get some mates round and throw stones at the TV x
I am reading about altruism in Dawkins 'Selfish Gene". Aside from a parental unit naturally putting themselves in harms way to protect their DNA we humans have a strange attraction for putting emotional equity into someone elses bank account.
It's nice to be able to make withdrawals after saving up for a rainy day but it doesn't always work out that way.
Sometimes we don't get an acceptable return on our investments. We have to be liquid enough to be able to transfer to a different account and learn from our mistakes. The greater the risk the greater the return if you have the stomach and the wherewithal to gamble. Most of us don't so we play it safe.

I don't hurt the ones i love the most, i think. I don't protect them either - they can take care of themselves.
I might be emotionally dead right now. Maybe i'll be reborn one day.

Only when we love, we are capable of hurting that person.
Indifference can never hurt.
