you can't change a person's feelings,
so what do you do? give up? walk away?

i am tired, so tired of fighting for friendships.

Yes.
Walk away.

Desire is the root of suffering, it causes attachment,
which leads to suffering,
which in turn, causes other beings to suffer.

Buddha

To love is to suffer.
To avoid suffering one must not love.
But then one suffers from not loving.
Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer.
To suffer is to suffer.
To be happy is to love.
To be happy then is to suffer.
But suffering makes one unhappy.

Therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness.
I hope you're getting this down

Why fight for friendships.
Friendships happen.
They blossom out of mutual love and respect of each other.
Sometimes they wither and fade away but the flower is remembered.

Walk away and see a world of flowers to smell and enjoy and you might find a new blossom among them

I have to agree with Donn and Walker-eventually you just have to walk away. It's like loving someone enough to let go, if they come back then it was meant to be. And sometimes it takes 10 years or so.
